Tracktion • Help with Nova in Waveform 12

I kinda get a 50/50 result when sidechaining with Nova. I typically like to sidechain the bass frequencies of the bass guitar to the drum I'm using, and the bass frequencies of my vocal (I have a fairly baritone voice) to the bass, guitar to the vocal, etc. But for whatever reason, it doesn't come alive for all of the tracks. Bass to drum is usually okay, vocal to bass okay, but then I may not see any activity on the meter with sidechaining to another track.

Any ideas what I might be doing wrong?

(BTW, just chaining via the actual plugin to said track(s).)
