Vocoders are really cool for sound design even if you don't use them for the typical talking sound. Often they are used to add a mid range phasing type of sound in modern music. However the CPU usage can get pretty high, so I thought "What if you could make this into an IR, so you can have that same sound, but without causing your computer to overheat".
