Hi
I an a hobbyist musician.
I normally have BitWig installed on a PC and a laptop - bot Windows 11 23H2 - UN-bloated.
I also normally copy the Project folder from PC to laptop and never had problems, although I have to say lately on PC I get too many Plug-in error - taking long to load etc.
But if I leave it, it will load them after maybe 4-5 minutes.
I never had a single problem on Laptop, because it is better (basic specs below), but this morning I copied Project file from PC, as I wanted to test latest project which is heavy on PC - still works though, to see if it could handle it without glitches and I may had bought an external Monitor and use that instead of PC.
Upon loading that Project (same with others), everything loads fast enough, but then 'all' the plug-in are not loaded and I see 'within plug-ins at bottom view:
Could not load initial plugin state: Could not open Bitwig Studio\plugin-states\****.fsx for writing: errno = 2 !
Could not load initial plugin state: Could not open Bitwig Studio\plugin-states\***.vstpreset for writing: errno = 2 !
The obvious I have done:
Re-indexed plug-ins
Repaired BitWig - as I did just install 5.2.7 last time - just in case
Re-pasted projects from one of my external drives
Probably other things too... do not remember now
I am no expert on 'Audio-Windows' approach to sound, but I am a veteran Windows user since DOS 3.1 in floppies!
Has BitWig done any work on the plugin-states folder?
I will re-copy the whole Project folder - in case there was a problem with PC - you never know!
I haver no idea of what is going on and in the meantime I am going to replace two Woofers from my old Aiwa speakers - I am renewing them 80w RMS 165mm width - it is a very good pair of speakers.
I am also going to use my 1980s Sansui quadrophonic amplifier using my other 2 VERY large speakers I have at home (I am at work now - Electronics Technician - old style
) - 'instead' of wasting money of active speakers - I have my way!
I have contacted BitWig and I got the obvious answers, I am not blaming them - I love BitWig!!
I will fix it, but just asking in case someone else had a similar experience.
Thank you
M
