Yes, I’ve figured after all these years I am an SSM guy. I always thought the Jupiet 8 OTA filter was the creme de la creamer coz it’s so pleasant, liquid and sexy. It’s like the ‘dream wife’ who is naturally beautiful, cares for you, becomes the core of the family, but also capable of naughty things at times.

I have recently played a Prophet5 rev2 and also a Polysix. Mind you I have P5rev4 which has a rev1/2 filter but sill. F**k me. SSM synths are just… It’s the neighbours wife dressed up in leather outfit. It’s the forbidden fruit. You know you can’t but it’s worth burning in hell for it. (This is just a joke, obviously I am not fantasising about my neighbours wife and I am loyal man).

The question is are there any good SSM emulations? How accurate Korg polysix is (for those who had the real synth), it’s quite old code ennit? I know Arturia did rev2 P5 but I am just not an Arturia guy. Is any of the filter options in Repro resemble the SSM filter? Are there good Trident emulations? I only know of the full bucket one.

The best software SSM filter is obviously Cytomic in VCV but would be great to have something more compact when don’t feel like patching.

I wish Softube did a Model 80 v2 with 10 voice polyphony, rev2 filter and hide-able keyboard coz that one sounds closest to my P5rev4. Btw I think I will fork out 1,5k for a Polysix I loved the sound of it so much.
